Cosplay Fun
Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2018
The very first cosplay I put together for a convention, having technically having made some of a fan film I made fresh out of high school 10 years earlier. I did wear it to a convention, but it wasn't made FOR it.
For Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2018, the same year the Resident Evil 2 Remake trailer was revealed, I decided to put this together. I went extra, looking over all the images and pausing the video to look for all the accessories you could see on Leon. I wanted it to be as detailed as possible, and ultimately I was incredibly happy with the outcome!
This was probably the most expensive of what I've put together so far, but it was a lot of fun playing detective on parts of the outfit. The most difficult part was getting the back patch, since I couldn't find anyone making some of the patch sizes needed to fully build it off the new design. I was a little disappointed that so few people said anything about it, but I had so much fun wearing it I wanted to do more!
Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2019
I didn't start considering who to cosplay next until about 6 months from PRGE 2019. Since I procrastinated I was limited on time, but didn't want to NOT, so I went with a character with a fairly simple design, but still a favorite, and because I wanted an excuse to buy a jabot! So I was rocking an Ace Attorney Miles Edgeworth Cosplay that year!
I was actually concerned that the Jabot wasn't going to arrive in time for the event, but was pleasantly surprised!
Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2024
Covid-19 started rearing its head at the end of 2019, and it resulted in PRGE being canceled for a couple of years, and hadn't built a cosplay for a few years, but I always wanted to do a cosplay of one of the Snake's from Metal Gear Solid. Finally after some indecisiveness, I decided to finish building it, and I brought Venom Snake to the humble Gaming Theater Presents booth!
This was also the one I've received the most compliments on, and I will likely use again!
